Donations & Merchandise Coordinator
Part-Time | $18/hr | 20 hours/week
Location: The Gerald Hardy Memorial Society, Sheet Harbour, NS
Are you highly organized, community-minded, and passionate about making a difference?
The Gerald Hardy Memorial Society is seeking a reliable and hands-on Donations & Merchandise Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Cascades Thrift Store and Online Auction.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating all donation activities—from intake and sorting to preparing items for resale—while also empowering individuals with diverse abilities to take part in purposeful work and grow their skills in a positive, community-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive, sort, and organize incoming donations
• Assess items for resale or auction, price, and prepare for display
• Maintain donation flow and backroom organization
• Monitor donation bins and ensure items are handled with care
• Work with volunteers and supported individuals to complete daily tasks
• Keep the store and sorting areas clean, safe, and well-stocked
You Are:
• Organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 25 lbs)
• A positive team player who leads by example
• Flexible and willing to support various day-to-day tasks
• Committed to community inclusion and support
