Food Bank Management Position

Overview

The Gerald Hardy Memorial Society/Rainbow Food Bank is seeking a Food Bank Manager to provide operational leadership and transition support during a period of organizational change. The successful candidate will be guided by the Executive Director to help maintain effective food bank operations while supporting the transfer of oversight to a new organization, ensuring continuity of service, volunteer engagement, community collaboration, and long-term sustainability.

Position objectives

Manage and support all aspects of the food bank operations.

Develop and coordinate volunteer program/opportunities.
Act as a primary point of contact for foodbank related inquires and partnerships

Monitor inventory, records, reporting requirements, and operational compliance.
Provide regular updates, recommendations, and reports to GHMS leadership.

Work with new leadership team to support a smooth transition of operations.

 

Monthly Duties

Coordinate food procurement and distribution

Monthly data entry and operational reports.
Documentation of operational procedures.
Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers

Build and maintain relationships with community partners.

Qualifications

Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience in volunteer coordination is favored.
Experience or knowledge of nonprofit, community, or food security sectors is an asset.
Criminal Records Check.

Hours and Wage

$24.00 per hour.
50 - 70 hours per month. (Weekly hours vary altering on week of food distribution.)
